Why Visiting the Barley Fields Matter

During our time in Utah, one of the most important things we did was visit the barley grass fields in person. For us, this was not just a photo opportunity or a general business visit. We wanted to understand where the ingredient truly begins. We wanted to see the land, walk the fields, meet the farmers, and learn directly from the people who are involved in growing and processing it.

Being there in person gave us a completely different perspective. We were able to see the environment where the barley grass is grown, talk with the farmers about the land and the process, and better understand the care that goes into producing the ingredient from the very beginning. We also met members of the production team and learned more about what happens after harvest. Instead of only hearing about the process in theory, we were able to follow the story more closely, from collection to juicing to drying and final preparation for packaging.

That kind of visibility matters a lot to us at Xixi & Mamas Health. We do not want to build products based only on marketing claims or paperwork. We want to know the story behind what we share. We want to understand how an ingredient is handled, who is responsible for each stage, and whether the process reflects the level of care we want connected to our brand. Visiting the fields and seeing the process firsthand gave us a deeper sense of confidence, because it made the product feel real, traceable, and human.

Transparency is one of the values that matters most to us. If we are going to offer something to other families, we feel responsible for understanding it as fully as we can. That means looking beyond the final pouch and asking where it came from, how it was made, and what standards shaped it along the way. Our visit to the barley fields reinforced why that matters so much. Quality starts long before a product reaches the shelf. It starts with the land, the people, and the process behind it.
